On September 29, 2021, Alderman Hopkins hosted a virtual meeting to outline a community engagement and neighborhood visioning process for several properties in the Old Town neighborhood owned by Fern Hill, a Chicago-based developer, and The Moody Church. The meeting briefly discussed several notable neighborhood properties in and around the intersection of North Avenue and LaSalle Drive and the former Treasure Island Grocery Store retail space on Wells Street. 

 

The ownership group is not proposing any development plans at this time. Rather, the meeting was a first introduction to the ownership and design teams who will be engaging with the community, a summary of the various site histories, and an outline of Alderman Hopkins' engagement process with community stakeholders including neighborhood associations, condominium associations, and the community at large.
